The primary objective of the Marketing Specialist is to assist the organization in making data driven marketing decisions. Researches market situations to identify business trends for volume and pricing/margin by product and assess improvement needs. Gather pertinent information on sales, customers, competitors, prices, and distribution channels to assist in the development of sales and global marketing strategies. Primary custodians and key update resource for OXEA industry practices (demand supply, utilization, cost curves, and various marketing data bases) and contribute to project work as needed.



  • Responsible for running the monthly Variable Margin Forecasting (Best Thinking) in cooperation with controlling and reviewing monthly results and deviations from budget and forecast for the respective group of products.
  • Assist in the annual budget process through coordinating inputs from departments involved, e.g., supply chain planning, procurement, controlling.
  • Responsible for reviewing, interpreting and documenting pricing analysis and cost components to identify leakages and opportunities for margin improvement opportunities.
  • Responsible for implementing countermeasures and improvement initiatives as appropriate and approve by the responsible marketing lead. 
  • Maintain and develop price and margin calculators by product to support decision making and review raw material trends for proposals regarding price adjustment reaction.
  • Accountable for calculating and monitoring contracted formula pricing, customer rebates and discounts, regularly validating respective accruals in the ERP system.
  • Assist as back-up function for Global Commercial Business Director during times of absence for communication with the Oxea sales team.
  • Maintain coordination and communication of key business functions, e.g., sales, supply chain planning and logistics, to warrant smooth conduct of related sales transactions.
  • Marketing Intelligence
    • Observe and evaluate trends (technical/commercial) in relevant market segments of the products (including fair trade visits, conferences, etc.); collect customer and market information through principal research methods; analyze price trends on alternative molecules through principal research methods.
    • Update and maintain Global Supply Demand Balance, market updates, price announcements; create and consolidate global market maps and flows of Oxea products.
    • Analyze customers, organizations, and competitors value chains.
    • Develop and implement procedures/tools to identify business trend. Provide financial and commercial analysis and simulations to help sales and marketing staff determine their positioning in the current market place.
  • Act as primary data custodian and responsible for all applicable marketing databases for the respective product group.
  • Prepare and manage timelines for marketing projects and promoting activities related to marketing.



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Marketing or Finance
  • Minimum three years’ work experience in Finance, Marketing or Supply Chain in the petrochemical field
  • Leadership skills with ability to influence others within the organization
  • Excellent communication, presentation and data analytics skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Power Point, Excel and Project Management Tools
  • Knowledge of business principles involved in marketing planning
  • Solid business acumen, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong active listener and learner
  • Excellent at time management and negotiation
