GENERAL ROLE OF POSITION:

Accomplish departmental work through supporting human resource tasks and objectives to meet the business needs of the company.  Responsibilities and tasks include professional support for recruitment, payroll, compensation & benefits, HRIS/computer systems, strategic human resources planning/headcount, relocation, equality and diversity issues, HR Planning Process, organizational design and development consulting, training needs assessment and recommendation, performance and talent management, communications, and employee and community relations.  Under appropriate circumstances, the incumbent will be responsible for securing legal advice and to act on that advice as appropriate.

 

MAJOR ACTIVITIES AND PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs and continually improves “routine” HR functions,  such as salary and bonus administration, HR Planning Process (objective setting, Continuity Planning, and performance reviews), position profiles & evaluations, policy changes, & computerized systems maintenance.
  • Recruits to ensure top quality exempt hires.  Work with clients and third party contractors. Continuously looks for ways to improve recruiting  process, reduce costs, and to source candidates who fit the culture and values of OXEA.    
  • Organize onboarding activity such as coordination of relocation & orientation of new and transferred employees.
  • Knowledgeable of current trends in the industry and the function, and able to make program and process recommendations based on that knowledge.
  • Establishes and maintains effective communications with all levels of employees, management and employee groups. 
  • Work with client groups to resolve employee relations issues, and to recommend corrective action steps and performance improvement plans.  Secures and acts on legal advice as appropriate.
  • Consistently interprets and applies policies and procedures. Identifies and recommended policy revisions as needed.
  • Facilitates organizational re-design/people planning efforts and solutions.
  • Participates in the assessment, identification and development of training needs.  Participates in community relations activities including plant tours and community engagement activities.

 

 Required Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • BS/BA Degree in a related field
  • Minimum of four years of broad Human Resources experience with proven ability to be an effective team member.
  • Excellent people, networking and relationship building skills that lead to  long term synergies and success. Comfortable managing relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience in counseling and recommending HR actions.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.. 
  • Strong problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • Wage and Salary administration experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Employment Laws and EEO, AA, ADA, and FMLA regulations.
  • HR Planning Processes experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of recruiting techniques.
  • Training experience.
  • Experience in working with different HRIS systems.
  • Knowledge of Organization Development techniques and strategies.
